Personality: Will is an upbeat sort of guy, laid-back in all the right
ways. People like him, if for no other reason than he seems to like
everyone else. The only thing that gets him truly rankled is the
mistreatment of children, and that includes improper medical treatment
on the part of parents. From the overworrying mothers who give their
kids different kinds of complexes, to the ones who won't bring thier
kids in until they are bleeding out of the eyelids.

History: William Pearce grew up in a large family down in Maryland,
with a father who was a small town doctor and a mother who was the
local DA, then worked up to Judge. Considering the rather insane hours
of both his parents, William became something of a third parent to his
younger siblings - making sure that everyone had their lunches in the
morning, teeth brushed, homework done, all that. The Pearces had a
housekeeper and a cook, but they found themselves answering, rather
humorously, to the even-tempered and ever calm 10 year old 'man of the
house', as Will, Jr, was called.

Will earned money growing up first babysitting for his siblings, and
then other people's children. Small town life was fairly quirky, so no
one really batted an eye when telling new mothers in town the best
babysitter was also the boy who won the honor roll and the science
fair five years running. His love for children, his love for science,
and his ever respect and awe for his father, made Will take the route
of medicine when he entered William and Mary at the ripe age of 16, a
gifted child well beyond his years. His mother's ambitious nature put
him at the head of his classes, her compassion made him help others
keep up with the curve.

He graduated from W&M at 19, then went off to study at Jefferson
Medical. He graduated when he was 22, finished his residency in 18
months, and then took a job up north in New York City. It was his
first taste of big city life, on his own, and he loved it up North.
Cold crisp weather and people everywhere.

He got a job offer from PPTH two years later, looked the place over
and took it when he saw who else served on board there. Gregory House,
James Wilson and Lisa Cuddy were names worthy of respect in the
medical community, and Will wanted to fix his star to a rising
hospital. He's been there ever since, and when the recent Head of Peds
retired last May, he took over the position with what he hoped was
aplomb and a great deal of sensiblity.

He's currently working on improving patient care within his division,
not to mention trying to find talented doctors to flesh out his own
team. He's got his eyes on a few, namely Allison Cameron. Just
professionally, folks.
